Alex Wickham: New: Tony Blair says Labour is “playing with fire”…

New: Tony Blair says Labour is “playing with fire” and risking the country’s future by changing prime minister “The Labour Party is playing with fire; or, more accurately with its future, and that of the country.” “Whether there is a leadership change or not is irrelevant if it doesn't start with a policy debate.” “Trying to force the Prime Minister out before we know what policy direction we're bringing in, is not a serious way of conducting ourselves.” Blair also blasts Keir Starmer’s government for being too left-wing “The Government is governing from an essentially traditional Labour ‘soft left’ position, parked firmly in the Party’s comfort zone… in the last Budget, it appeared as if we were increasing tax to pay for additional welfare spending, when the public already thinks welfare bills are too high” Via @LucyGJWhite >>

Dale Vince: Another Reform member and another example…

Another Reform member and another example of Racism, Sexism and Islamophobia. Reform is a melting pot of bad people. A limited company with a dodgy leader who takes foreign money, sometimes in secret - who literally said anything for money in his Cameo stint. The beer swilling, fag smoking donkey that ‘led’ us to Brexit. https://thetimes.com/uk/politics/article/nigel-farage-preacher-stephen-clayden-97t2v7vvq

Pouria Zeraati: Important/ Israel's intense campaigns…

Important/ Israel's intense campaigns in the south and other areas of Lebanon continued this morning as well. In light of last night's phone conversation between Trump and Bibi, and the fact that the regime has raised halting attacks on Lebanon as a condition for a temporary agreement, this Israeli action could have two meanings: 1- Israel and America have diverted the I.R.'s request regarding Lebanon. 2- Or that the "temporary agreement" is close, and Israel wants to hit as many targets as possible in the remaining time. My take? The first one.

Andrew Bridgen: Here we go again from the WHO…

Here we go again from the WHO right on cue Ebola pandemic. 1500 infants die of malaria everyday around the world but not a word about it from the WHO because they are poor people and there is no money for big pharma in treatments for them and big pharma and their backers fund the WHO. Ebola outbreak 'spreading faster than can be controlled' warns WHO https://dailymail.com/health/article-15851441/Ebola-outbreak-spreading-faster-controlled-warns-cases-rise-1-000.html?ito=amp_twitter_share-top via @DailyMail

Liz Webster: Janan Ganesh is right that Brexit Britain…

🇬🇧 Janan Ganesh is right that Brexit Britain has become more fragmented, distrustful and interventionist. BUT he misses the central reason. It’s not bc Britons are secretly French-style statists who finally discovered their inner Europeanness. It’s because the public were sold contradictions/lies in Brexit. Voters were promised: • Lower immigration • Stronger public services (£350m for the NHS) • More sovereignty • Less bureaucracy • Greater prosperity • With no trade-offs At the same time, libertarian Brexit ideologues imagined “Singapore-on-Thames” while millions of voters actually wanted protection, security and national renewal. Those visions were never aligned. 🎧 👇

Chris Williamson: Israel is run by evil demonic bastards…

Israel is run by evil demonic bastards, whose actions are supported by over 90% of Jewish Israelis. The fact that this Labour govt retains diplomatic relations and is still selling arms to this rogue entity is an outrage. So, when @AndyBurnhamGM replaces Sir @Keir_Starmer later this year, will he renounce his previous support for Israel? Will Andy end arms sales and sever diplomatic relations with Israel, or will he bow to pressure from the UK's genocidal Zionist lobby? This one issue will determine whether Andy is capable of being an international statesman or will he just be another puppet of Benjamin Netanyahu and his cronies. This is THE most important foreign policy issue this century. Will Andy behave as Thatcher did when she maintained diplomatic and trading ties with apartheid South Africa when people all over the world were demanding an end to that regime?
