Lee Hurst: The only thing that will save us…

The only thing that will save us financially in the UK is cuts. The government needs to stop spending. Start with a recruitment freeze. For every three people who quit or retire you are allowed to hire one person. This immediately allows the public sector to shrink in a managed way. As you hire new staff, they will not be allowed a public sector pension. They will only be allowed a private one if they choose to take one out. This immediately starts to shrink the cost of the public sector pension bill in a managed way. Non jobs that provide no worth to the public will be ended and the staff relocated within the public sector on the same pay to roles that are needed. Using the above template, you will not have to make anyone redundant. You will just shrink the public sector until we end up with one we can actually afford doing what we actually need. Alongside this you encourage investment in the private sector to create jobs that add worth to our economy and society. Social Housing apartments can be built which can then have a degree of rent control thus reducing the benefits bill by reducing the rents the taxpayer is forced to cover at the same time as reducing benefits payments in general by putting people back to work. The apartments will also provide a guaranteed safe, stable return for the investors. None of the above is sexy or fabulous. It’s not an entertaining post. In fact it is very boring, but it is full of ideas that we need to consider. What’s your idea?

Lee Hurst: Labour has done NOTHING...

Labour has done NOTHING to deserve this poll lead. Some of you PM Andy Bullshit fans explain to me why they would be here over want went before with Starmer. Higher taxes. Higher unemployment. More illegals. More terrorists. Higher fuel bills. Higher energy costs. Higher borrowing. More billionaires leaving. Oh yes, a discussion about pub snacks, a charity 5K, an X Factor back story about his dad that he shamelessly used and a £2 bus fare. You sell your vote, history and culture so cheaply.

Lee Hurst: Yes I believe Lowe is just performing...

Yes I believe Lowe is just performing out of spite with Restore, but also it makes sense for Restore to stand where Reform are standing as they see people’s views are closer to them. We cannot chase that Restore vote as I believe it will cause more votes to ditch Reform than it gains. What we have to do is build our message, work harder, ignore Restore and get the votes we need from elsewhere. Let Restore do their thing and we at Reform do ours.

Lee Hurst: Genuinely biased and politically motivated...

Genuinely biased and politically motivated. If he were let out on bail and broke his conditions then bang him up, but this is quite ridiculous. It is what it is. This is why I advocate the ballot box over the protest all day long. Protests let off a bit if steam, give you a brief feel good buzz and achieve nothing except a few martyrs as they hammer you down. With a Reform govt all of this bias would be stopped. There would be a clear out of these people wielding their power for political bias. A mass sacking event.

Lee Hurst: As usual, no one in govt...

As usual, no one in govt will be looking into the chaotic care system and addressing the massive inefficiencies of carers spending more time driving between clients rather than actually with them. Instead, they will simply use the hammer of more tax rises to paper over it. One example. After my mum with dementia had been discharged from hospital and left bed bound due to their ‘care’ (she had walked in). The NHS initially paid for her home carers. I then had a 2 hour phone conversation with 4 separate agencies at the same time for what the council bloke told me was a 99% certainty that the NHS would cease funding her care and it would fall upon the local council. In other words 4 x 2 hours so a whole working day’s public sector salary waste of time for a foregone conclusion. Then there was the state funded charity conversation to simply tell me how to claim attendance allowance for mum rather than them just issuing it. It’s a total industry drowning in waste. Before another penny is stolen from the taxpayer, sort it out first.

Lee Hurst: Britain spends £177 billion...

Britain spends £177 billion on welfare (this excludes those on the state pension). The take home pay for someone on minimum wage is £20,800 per year. If we divide the £177 Bn by the minimum wage it comes to 8,509,615 people. Eight and a half million people getting an average of £20,800 without leaving their sofas and doing nothing. Someone justify this to me and tell me this is morally acceptable. Obvs many people will be getting far more than £20,800 and some much less, but the point remains. Explain to a person on minimum wage why they should turn up for work and take home less money than 8.5 million other idle people after deducting travel expenses.
